Pearls: - Designate and time to place to meet and SIT with your patient and their family/loved ones. - Be direct! Guage the patient and families' interest in learning more, but do not overload with information from the get go. - Be kind to yourself! Delivering difficult news to families and patients can be draining; make sure you have an outlet of expression/relaxation. |
