2000: Dr. John Talbott created The Professionalism Project, an initiative in which a group of dedicated students and faculty members collaborate to promote ideals of professionalism and humanism per Dean Donald Wilson and Dr. Frank Calia
2002: The Humanism Honor Society at the University of Maryland was established by Dean Donald Wilson 2007: The Society became a chapter of the Gold Humanism Honor Society (GHHS) 2014: The Professionalism Project led by Dr. Talbott was integrated into the medical school’s GHHS chapter and two faculty members, Dr. Neda Frayha and Dr. Kathryn Hart, were selected to be co-advisors to the GHHS group 2017: A new project was started called "Humans of UMB" to introduce students to familiar faces around campus whose stories may not be known. Also, Dr. Nidhi Goel replaced Dr. Kathryn Hart as GHHS chapter co-advisor. |
